SENSORY EXPLORATION

Sensory Exploration

Sensory exploration sessions are lots of fun. Through sensory exploration, your child can develop a range of movements during the activities as well as using their senses to experience the different resources. The sessions are an opportunity to develop communication, whether this is telling you that they want something to continue or finish, making a choice between objects, or showing you what they like or don’t like through use of a symbol, facial expression or gesture. Sensory exploration can also develop physical skills such as holding, feeling, pushing away or reaching for objects and visual skills, such as attending to stimuli, following moving stimuli or coordinated reaching for objects. The sensory exploration sessions below are to do each morning to wake up your child’s senses and they are themed upon different rooms in the home.
