Miss Lundy and Miss Wajda

Hello Year 1 and welcome back for the summer term!

I have loved seeing all of your work and pictures on Seesaw. I have really enjoyed listening to you read as well. Thank you for working so hard, you are all amazing. Keep up the wonderful effort and keep posting your work, pictures and videos of what you are doing at home on Seesaw, they are fabulous!

Just a friendly reminder to parents, please use our school Facebook page for up to date information, activities and learning opportunities.

We miss you all so much!

Miss Lundy

To support home learning, we can utilise various online and offline platforms. Your teacher will set assignments and activities via Seesaw, Pixl and CGP books.

Seesaw

Seesaw is the main point of contact for teachers setting and assessing children’s work at home. Seesaw works on every device type including Chromebooks, computers, iOS devices, Android devices as well as Kindle devices! Your child is familiar with using Seesaw in class on a regular basis.

How to download Seesaw

iOS: Download Seesaw Class iPhone/iPad app

Android: Download Seesaw Class app

Chromebooks & Computers: Sign in on Seesaw Website (Chrome or Firefox)

Kindle Fire: Download Seesaw Class app

How to access your Seesaw class

Step 1: Open the Seesaw Class app on iOS or Android. Or go to app.seesaw.me on any computer in Chrome or Firefox browser.

Step 2: Choose I’m a Student

Step 3: Enter your home learning code. Your home learning code will be provided on a separate letter and must be kept safe. Never share you code with anyone.

Pixl Apps

Pixl Apps support children in developing basic numeracy and literacy skills in a fun and engaging way.

Times Tables App: https://timestable.pixl.org.uk/indextt.html

Vocab App: https://vocab.pixl.org.uk/

Our "Big Question" for this half term is:  Why do we have seasons?

We have been exploring this in lots of different ways, including monitoring the changes in weather, nature walks, creating beautiful artwork and looking at the weather in different parts of the world.

We have used the information we have discovered to come up with our own ideas about why we have seasons.
