Breakfast Club at Our Lady & St Swithin’s Catholic Primary School
Monday to Friday 8am to 8.45am (Children must arrive before 8:15am).
Our Breakfast Club is free to all children (Reception to Y6).
At Breakfast Club children can meet with their friends and other children in the hall supervised by school staff. A healthy breakfast will be provided with children sat together calmly around the tables. Breakfast is eaten and enjoyed with others in a warm, soothing environment and is a positive and sociable way to start the day – this also helps to set the tone for the day ahead. We offer a variety of fun games and activities for children to support their learning.
Missing breakfast can have negative impact in the classroom, we therefore aim to ensure every child has the best start to their day with a healthy breakfast which will boost concentration, improve behaviour and enhance their academic performance.
Breakfast Club is particularly useful for working parents.
Children can choose from: A range of healthy cereals, toast, muffins, croissants, pancakes, yogurts and fresh fruit.
During SAT’s week we encourage Year 6 to attend. The relaxed atmosphere of the Breakfast Club will ensure a calm start to each day of SATs week.

Our extra curricular offer:
At OLSS, we offer a variety of clubs and activities outside of our regular school day. We are really proud of our vibrant extra-curricular offer and this is much appreciated by our parents/carers. All of our clubs are free as we see these as an extension of our school day; yet another way to enhance our pupils’ cultural capital. In the past twelve months, we have offered the following clubs and activities: football, multi-sports, chess, Summer garden kitchen, forest mini skills, Spanish, phonics, enterprise, athletics, chef skills cookery, art, tennis, book club, Irish dancing, puzzle and board game, times table, choir, crafts, forest explorers, Year 6 boosters, yoga, Squiggle while you wiggle, social interaction and communication, Lego, story book, parent and child cookery, social skills and games, curling, life-skills, Christmas around the world, fantastic book awards, world foods celebration, newspaper and STEM. WOW…we told you that our extra-curricular offer was pretty good! This is the aim!!!!
As part of our extra-curricular offer, we aim to:

In order to achieve these aims, we offer a range of lunchtime and after-school activities that enhance and support children’s learning beyond our vibrant curriculum offer. Clubs are run by a mixture of staff and adults from external organisations and are available across all year groups.

After school Clubs at Our Lady and St Swithin’s Catholic Primary School are fun and engaging each night of school. All clubs must be booked on Arbor. If your child does not attend for 2 weeks their place will be offered out to other children.
