In PSHE this week we have been focusing on healthy and unhealthy friendships. We have discussed the impacts it can have on us, how we can remain in a healthy friendship, who we can talk to if we feel we are in a unhealthy friendship and strategies we can use to keep our friendships healthy.
This week the children have enjoyed their movie afternoon. They were able to settle down with their pillow and favourite blanket whilst raising lots of money for Alder Hay.
The children have been exploring the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. They created a sandal for Moses and chose a special word that reminds them of the story, reflecting on how Moses lived out this word after answering God’s call.
Year 5 had a fantastic time exploring Knowsley Safari Park and getting up close to some incredible animals. We really enjoyed learning and developing our knowledge, reading interesting facts and figures about all animals from different countries.
In art Year 5 have been exploring different types of landscape pictures. We have been using a viewfinder to select a small part of the image and drawing the shapes and images on a smaller scale. This is in readiness for when we create our own.
This week Year 5 have been thinking about and discussing what makes a good friend. We listed different qualities that we look for and explained why these are important to us personally.
