WELCOME TO ARC 2D

Pupils attending Arc 2D class follow the semi-formal Equals Curriculum where all school-based learning is reinforced by regular educational trips, designed to bring the curriculum to life and enable pupils to experience topics practically for themselves, such as exploring nature and the natural environment. As well as supporting their classroom-based learning, regular involvement in the wider school community helps pupils to develop other skills such as learning about their faith. self-confidence and self-awareness. Pupils also practise using their classroom skills in a functional way, such as using maths skills when engaging in cookery lessons. As they progress on their own personal learning journey they will move onto more complex skills however these will still be delivered and reinforced through a more functional approach.We value strong communication between home and school.

ASSESSMENT

The children are assessed throughout the year via Earwig Academic Timelines.

Earwig is an online system that our school uses to record learning and progress. Teachers add photos, videos and notes about what your child has been doing in class. These are organised into a timeline so you can see their journey over time. As a parent, you will be invited to see your child's academic timeline during parent evening sessions where you can celebrate achievements, and see how they are getting on at school.

Swimming Dates for the Spring term

  • Thursday 5th February 2026 ( Please make sure your child has their swimming kit with them on these dates)

    PE sessions

  • PE sessions will be held on a Wednesdnay morning so can you please send your child into school in their track suit on this day.
