This week, in Year 3, we have enjoyed exploring and celebrating many of the different homework projects the children have completed.

This week, in RE, Year 3 focused on how Jesus is in the Eucharist and what this means to us. We thought about how this links to different parts of the Mass. The children enjoyed making a craft to show this and took it home to share their learning with their families.

This week, Year 3 enjoyed celebrating St George’s Day, learning about the History and designing their own shields to represent what they had learnt.

This week, Year 3 enjoyed their PE lesson in the sunshine, focusing on their batting and fielding skills.

This week, Year 3 have enjoyed taking part in lots of Easter activities and celebrations, including parading their Easter gardens.

This week, Year 3 have enjoyed many activities as part of World Book Day celebrations, including a parent stay and read session, dressing up as their favourite characters, a book design competition and many more.

This week, Year 3 have enjoyed their first LSSP coaching session, working on improving their teamwork and listening skills.

This week, in RE, Year 3 enjoyed learning about The Parable of the Yeast. They made their own bread loaves and made connections of how it links to The Kingdom of God.

This week, in History, Year 3 have enjoyed using clay to make items they have learnt about from The Indus Valley civilisation, including the dancing girl. When made, the children created their own mini museums to showcase their work.

Friday 30th January 2026

This week, in RE, we listened to the story of when Jesus healed the Centurion’s Servant and discussed the messages from it. We made the Centurion’s helmet so that we could take them home to retell the story with our families.

This week, Year 3 enjoyed planning and delivering a whole school Prayer and Liturgy based on The Parable of the Sower.

This week, in Art, Year 3 have enjoyed adding water based coloured ink to filter paper and adding drops of water to explore the different pigments of colour.

This week, in Maths, Year 3 have explored the concepts of grouping and sharing by completing practical activities.

This week, in English, Year 3 have enjoyed using their iPads to research more about foxes. They will use their research to write an information report about foxes.

Friday 5th December 2025

This week, in Art, Year 3 have enjoyed learning how different marks can be made using paint and rollers. They experimented by rolling over different objects in the classroom to see what marks could be made.

This week, in Science, Year 3 have enjoyed exploring the labels on food packaging to identify the different amount of nutrients in a variety of foods.

This week, in DT, Year 3 enjoyed learning how to stew ingredients to make a healthy dessert.

This week, in Maths, Year 3 have enjoyed using resources to support their learning of subtracting 10s across a 100.
