During PE this week, we have been continuing to develop our throwing and catching skills. This has helped us to improve our game of cricket.

In English this week, we have been completing our final write on our text, Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species. We have focused on the objectives we need to include and our cursive handwriting.
This week, Y6 took part in a CELLS project workshop. They listened intently and asked lots of questions to understand that making the wrong choices can have a huge negative impact on not just their own lives but their families lives too.
This week in RE, we have been working in groups planning, writing and performing our own Prayer and Liturgy.
This week in our Power session, we created our own superhero workout games and investigated whether they increased our heart rate.
In RE this week, we have compared four gospels from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They all retold the story of Jesus feeding the crowd. We discussed how and why each gospel varied in detail.

This week in RE, we have been looking at Judaism. We have been learning about The Mikveh, which is a special pool of natural water used for purification and renewal. It is used before important life events, such as marriage, and symbolises a fresh start.

This week in our computing lesson with Mr Priesly, we looked at different social media apps and created animated posters using PicCollage.
This week in maths, we have been continuing to look at fractions. We have been using different methods to help us understand how to convert mixed numbers into improper fractions and vice versa.
In Science, Year 6 have been looking at light. This week we made our own Newton colour wheels to help us understand how rainbows are formed.
Year 6 have been exploring cubism in art and creating their own cubist-inspired paintings.
