This week in forest school the children learnt all about the Easter story. They made their own crosses out of sticks and nothing our fine motor skills! Have a lovely Easter everyone!🌟🌳🐣✝️
This week we have explored observational painting by looking closely at beautiful daffodil flowers. We took our time and carefully studied the shapes, colours and details before creating our own paintings🌼🖌️🎨🧑🎨
This week we focused on the Rainbow Fish on Monday. We made our own fish shaped pizzas! We practiced our spreading and cutting skills and learnt how to hold a knife correctly and safely.Well Done children!
This week we have celebrated World Book Day! We have read lots of our favourite books and done some amazing work for each one! We also visited Sefton Park and had the opportunity to visit the Palm House exhibition!
We have been very creative this week in Arc 2D! We have made our very own party poppers using our fine motor skills to pinch, grab and pull. We then decorated blossom trees , scrunching tissue paper to represent the blossoms. Both of these activities have helped develop our fine motor skills!
This week we have had so much fun making our own pancakes ready for Pancake day next week! We followed instructions and listened carefully to stay safe around the oven. We finished off our activity by talking about Lent. We discussed the meaning of lent and how Jesus done 40 days of reflection without food or drink.
This week we learned all about, and celebrated Chinese New Year. We visited the Chinese Arch, learned all about the Chinese luna calender, wrote our names in Chinese and finished the week tasting traditional Chinese food. Kung Hei Fat Choi!
This week the children made their own snowmen as part of our winter topic. They used their fine motor skills to pinch, shape, and decorate their snowmen carefully. The activity was lots of fun, and best of all, they were yummy to taste at the end!
This week, the children explored owl pellets, carefully investigating what owls eat. Inside the pellets, we discovered things such as small bones, fur, and feathers, helping the children learn about different animals, habitats, and the owl’s diet.
This week, the children visited Calderstones Park to see what birds we could spot, following instructions carefully to help keep everyone safe. We also made our own cheese toasties, practising spreading and cutting skills, which support the development of fine motor skills.

The children have had a wonderfully busy, Christmassy week, spending lots of time practising for their nativity and proudly performing it for their parents. They were absolutely amazing and did such a fantastic job. The excitement continued with a visit to Santa’s grotto, where they had lots of fun and made some very special memories. 🎄✨
We had so much fun making our Rice Krispie Christmas puddings today! 🎄✨ We practised our measuring, mixing and shaping skills — and the best part was definitely eating them afterwards! 😋
The children created beautiful Christmas decorations using pine cones they had collected during our forest school sessions. They loved turning their natural treasures into festive crafts to celebrate the season.
This week the children made their very own gingerbread men and followed each step of the recipe. They measured, mixed and shaped the dough carefully, creating delicious gingerbread men! We then had lots of fun decorating them and they tasted even better!
This week Arc 2D went oreinteering in Caldertones Park. Thier aim was to follow a map to find the famous one thousand year old 'Allerton Oak' tree. The children had no trouble following the clues to find the tree then they read all about it and it's rich history.
This week we have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes. We then went on a 'Shape Hunt' around the school to record some of the shapes we saw.
This week the children travelled to a local park to take part in a phonics listening activity. They were given an image sheet of things they should try to identify using only their hearing. They recognised and identified birds singing, children playing, dogs barking, footsteps in dried leaves and other sounds.
